INDIANAPOLIS - (September 4, 2020) The Hoosier Hospitality Promise, a public health initiative in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, has released data surrounding the number of businesses and consumers that have made"The Promise"throughout the State of Indiana.
The Hoosier Hospitality Promise is a joint effort by Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch, Indiana Destination Development Corporation (IDDC), Indiana Restaurant & Lodging Association (INRLA) and Indiana Tourism Association (ITA) that launched in early July. Since the launch, Indiana has seen more than 600 businesses makeThe Promiseto ensure employees' and consumers' safety.
"We are extremely pleased to see the results from the Hoosier Hospitality Promise and to know that so many businesses have made this important pledge," said Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch.

The more than 600 businesses that have made the Hoosier Hospitality Promise have pledged to follow federal, state and local health and safety guidelines. Almost 5,000 consumers have made"The Promise".

By making the Hoosier Hospitality Promise, businesses pledge that they are following all the guidelines from the CDC, local and state health departments, and best practices of their national organizations to keep their employees as well as guests healthy and safe.

When consumers make "The Promise", they commit to making Indiana healthier by practicing social distancing, wearing face coverings, and not going out if sick. In return, consumers receive a digital Hoosier Hospitality "Promise Pass", giving them access to exclusive discounts at select participating businesses.
"The Hoosier Hospitality Promise [ [link removed] ] website has been is a great tool for providing education, recognizing businesses that provide a safe environment for employees and guests, and motivating consumers with discounts as we continue to work towards a safe reopening for all Hoosiers," said Elaine Bedel, Secretary and CEO of IDDC. "In fact, this initiative is receiving international attention from CrowdRiff."
