STL Young Dems are BEYOND excited to host Cori Bush & Tishaura Jones for an exclusive Q&A this Tuesday night at our September monthly meeting.

Black Girl Magic was the theme of the August 4 primary. Tune into our conversation to learn how Cori and Tishaura won their races, the state of St. Louis politics, and ask them your questions.

STLYD recently amended its bylaws to require members who wish to vote in endorsements to attend at least two events one year prior. To take ā€œattendanceā€ for this, weā€™ll be posting a sign in form the night of the event.

The meeting will be streamed live to Facebook.

** Let's Flip (and hold) Some Seats!
------------------------------------------------------------
This fall, STL Young Dems are going all in to flip and hold seats - and we need your help to make it happen.

Our state legislature decides laws on abortion access, gerrymandering, voting rights, and more. We need to elect leaders who will secure these rights.

Join us for the following contactless lit drops:

** Membership Voting Results
------------------------------------------------------------
Last month, STLYD members voted on a mission statement, changes to the bylaws, whether to endorse Proposition D, and a new secretary. See below for the results:
* Mission Statement: All statements ([link removed]) passed
* Amendments to the Bylaws: Both changes (noted below) passed:
+ Additionally, as a prerequisite, a member is eligible to vote in the endorsement process if they have attended at least two meetings and/or actions one year prior to voting.
+ Candidates seeking our endorsement should meet and uphold the standards of our organizationā€™s mission statement. Should a candidateā€™s words or deeds place their dedication to those principles in question, the board has the right to reject the candidacy of any person seeking our endorsement.
* Proposition D ([link removed]) Endorsement: Passed
* New Secretary: Olivia Quinlan
