It was a big week!

The Minnesota Freedom Caucus ran the table on Tuesday night and sent a message that ought to be heard in all 50 states.

We've also got a Wyoming showdown big enough to pull in the New York Times, a West Virginia fight over government surveillance, and a couple of wins worth celebrating in Louisiana and Missouri. Let's get into it.

MINNESOTA

This is what the model looks like when it works. On Tuesday night, every member of your Minnesota Freedom Caucus who was on the ballot won their primary. All NINE. From Chairman Eric Lucero on down, the whole roster is headed to November with a win at their back.

The Establishment did not want this. Swamp-backed candidates ran hard to override the party's own endorsements and shove the grassroots aside. They spent the money. They made the calls. And Minnesota Republicans looked at a group of members who never once hid who they are - who stood up a brand-new Freedom Caucus back in February and told the whole state exactly what they believe - and sent every one of them right back to St. Paul.

Nine members ran as exactly who they are, and nine members are moving on. "You proved them wrong," the caucus told its supporters the next morning. Bravo to every one of them.

WYOMING

The New York Times just sent reporters all the way to Wyoming to write about your Wyoming Freedom Caucus - the first Freedom Caucus in the country to take control of a statehouse chamber. Even the Times had to admit that part.

Then they blew the rest. The paper painted the caucus as "far right" and cast State Senator Ogden Driskill, the man running against them, as "merely right." So let's go to the tape.

Our friends at the Institute for Legislative Analysis scored every Wyoming legislator on a single question: how often do you actually vote the Republican platform?

Ogden Driskill scored a 47%.  A man who votes against his own party's platform more than half the time is not "merely right".  He's a liberal hiding behind the "R" after his name

And the whole Establishment knows it. Americans for Prosperity, the big-money national outfit, is bankrolling more than a dozen candidates to knock off our people, Driskill included. Driskill told the Times how he feels in plain English:

"I hate the Freedom Caucus and how they do business."

Noted.

Chip Neiman thought so little of the threat that he gave up the speaker's gavel to challenge Driskill head-on, and it all comes down to next Tuesday.

Even the columnists see it. Dave Simpson has written for the Cowboy State Daily for 39 years, he is not a caucus member, and he warned his readers that if they toss Chip and the Wyoming Freedom Caucus members out, "we will deserve the bluer, more liberal state we become."

As caucus chairwoman Rachel Williams puts it, the caucus's supporters are the silent majority. August 18 is the day for them to be heard.

West Virginia Freedom Caucus Chairman Chris Anders has spent two years pushing one simple idea: if the government wants to track everywhere your car goes with those Flock surveillance cameras, it should have to get a warrant first. Two years running he has introduced the bill. Two years running it has gone nowhere.

The man it keeps dying in front of is Judiciary Chairman JB Akers, who told the press that Anders "submits sloppily drafted bills given to him by outside groups."

QUICK HITS

⚡️LOUISIANA: Our friend Rep. Roger Wilder, a member of the Louisiana Freedom Caucus, asked a simple question: why should a town that wants to lower your property taxes get punished for doing it? As the rules stand now, local officials who cut the rate can lose the right to bring it back later if they ever truly need it - so a lot of them just never cut at all. Wilder's amendment kills that trap. Lower the tax today, and keep the option to adjust down the road. It cleared the legislature without a single no vote, and now it goes to Louisiana voters this fall to lock it in.

⚡️MISSOURI: Our alum is cleaning house. Remember Denny Hoskins? Former Missouri Freedom Caucus member, now the Secretary of State, and he has been busy. Hoskins has pulled more than 280,000 ineligible names off Missouri's voter rolls: non-citizens, the deceased, folks who packed up and moved away, and convicted felons. That is a cleaner, more honest voter roll and it is exactly why we fight to get our own people into offices like this one.

This is what a good week looks like. Minnesota sent all nine of its Freedom Caucus members back to St. Paul, and the Wyoming Freedom Caucus is taking on the Establishment and the New York Times in the same fight.

The rest of the states in here are the same story in different clothes: our people showing up and doing the work while the Swamp does everything it can to stop them.
