Get a hoot from the Nottingham Wise Owl Walk

Ten beautifully decorative owls have landed in Nottingham city centre to form The Nottingham Wise Owl Walk, thanks to Nottingham Business Improvement District (BID).

The colourful owls will be on the perches for all to see from an atrail spanning Nottingham city centre, creating a fun and interactive walk to help people discover different parts of the city.

Every wise owl is completely unique and has been given a name with a Nottingham theme.The goal is to find each owl, which is the proud owner of a single letter - find them all and crack the code to reveal the secret sentence of Nottingham's Wise Owls.

National Ice Centre reopens

The National Ice Centre will reopen on Tuesday following a five-month closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

One-way systems have been implemented around the venue alongside social distancing guidelines signage, and robust cleaning regimes which will see all customer areas cleaned regularly throughout the day.

Public skating sessions, which must be pre-booked and paid for in advance online, will run at reduced capacities to limit the number of people on the ice and cash will not be accepted at the venue.

Customers must also wear a face covering inside the venue unless skating on the ice rink.

Campaign across 40 Nottingham Bars

Nottingham Craft Beer Week (NCBW) and Nottingham Business Improvement District (BID) are launching an art giveaway across 40 Nottingham bars, pubs and bottleshops this month.

A set of limited edition postcards, designed by Nottingham-based The Art of Beer and featuring each individual bar, will be given away free to customers with any purchase.

There are 300 of each print available at each venue (limited to one per customer). Unlike the government endorsed Eat Out To Help Out scheme, Art Out To Help Out will be available all day every day during the opening hours of each venue. The campaign begins on Monday 14 September and will continue until all postcards are claimed from each venue.

Below are images of five bars and pubs (Canalhouse, Malt Cross, The Angel Microbrewery, Six Barrel Hophouse, and Rescue Rooms. There are a total of 40 images in the series.
