Wisconsin legislators have neglected their duty to take up proposed bills to improve transparency and accountability and reduce violence and misconduct in policing. We cannot wait any longer to enact policies that make all Wisconsinites safer, especially Wisconsinites who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color who experience unacceptable inequities in our state.
We are calling on our legislators to hear, debate, and vote on LRB-6273, LRB-6274, LRB-6275, LRB-6276, LRB-6277, LRB-6281, LRB-6283, LRB-6289, and LRB-6292, which will improve police accountability and transparency. These bills are basic, common sense reforms and are supported by the Wisconsin Professional Police Association.
