John,
Right now, more than 5,000 sailors and Marines are stuck aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. They are in the ninth month of a deployment that was supposed to last seven, supporting military operations against Iran that Congress never authorized.
They’re reportedly stuck with moldy showers, broken toilets, no hot water for weeks, and meals that come down to half a cup of rice and two tortillas – if they’re fortunate.
The ship’s store is out of soap, deodorant, and toothpaste.
And their families are begging us to listen.
The wife of a San Diego sailor who attempted to jump shared that her husband is now on medical hold and fears a dishonorable discharge could destroy his 13-year career because he was exhausted after being repeatedly overextended. In a separate incident, another sailor reportedly intervened to stop a shipmate from going overboard.
But when families first raised the alarm back in April, Pete Hegseth called it fake news. And there have been no real efforts from the administration to take care of them since.
Our sailors and Marines deserve better than to be pushed past their limits and then left wondering when they will finally get home.
They, and their families, deserve answers.
If we don’t keep speaking out and fighting for them, we don’t deserve to have them fight for us.
I’m demanding that Pete Hegseth must bring these troops home as a matter of basic accountability. And I’d appreciate it if you'd add your name to my call. [[link removed]]

These men and women signed up to serve their country. The least their country owes them is hot water, a working toilet, and a real meal.
Thank you,
Mike
