Yesterday I told you about our goal of raising $10,000 by tomorrow night. We have made a real start, and I am grateful for every person who has stepped up thus far. But we are not there yet, and the clock is running.

I need to tell you why I keep pushing on this, but before I do: can I count on you to chip in to my campaign to flip North Dakota’s lone Congressional seat?

Julie Fedorchak is not worried about money. She has a million-dollar war chest and a national party ready to send her more. But there is one number she cannot buy, and it is the one that actually rattles an incumbent: how many everyday North Dakotans are willing to put their own money behind beating her.

That is what this goal measures. Not whether we can match her, because we can't, and we do not need to. Whether there are enough of us, chipping in what we can, to prove this is a real fight.

Every $25 from a farmer, a nurse, a railroader, or a retiree on a fixed income says the same thing. We are paying attention, and we are done being ignored.
