The genius of the Founders — in addition to establishing the separation of powers — was that they wanted elections in the House to serve as a referendum on the President midway through that four-year term. As they envisioned, the 2026 midterm elections will be a referendum on what’s going on in the White House and the Republican Congress and its impact on the American people. On November 3rd, We The People will send a clear message about the future for our Country that we want to create for working families, for our service members and for our young people.

MAGA Republicans have failed working families and created an affordability crisis — gutting healthcare in favor of billionaire tax breaks and rubber-stamping the President’s inept and harmful tariffs and a war of choice that is causing costs to soar on gas, groceries and utilities. In this President’s second failed term, the Republican Scam that they are better for the economy is being exposed once again in real time by this now-familiar cycle: Republicans wreck the economy, “rescue” the rich, crush working families, lose jobs — and count on Democrats to clean up their mess.

It’s not a coincidence that 97% of net job growth in the U.S. since 1989 has been under the leadership of Democratic presidents. As a consequence of harmful Republican policies that prioritize tax cuts for the rich on the backs of working people, the last 3 Democratic presidents also have had to pull our economy out of recession, enact emergency recovery aid and rescue our economy from freefall.

As families are crushed by the affordability crisis that Republicans caused and continue to deny, the Republicans' gaslighting can only go so far. Republicans know they can’t win a fair election on their terrible record, so they are flooding the zone with disinformation and trying to rig the outcome of the election with voter suppression. Despite their efforts, Democrats are fighting back and working to empower voters to have their voices heard at the ballot box. We also remain laser-focused on meaningful progress for the American people to stop the Republicans’ senseless tariffs, bring down costs, fix the MAGA healthcare mess, make housing more affordable and restore power to the people!

My role working alongside you right now is to make sure that Democrats win and that we win BIG in November. When we won big in 2018 — winning over 40 seats, 31 of them in Trump districts — we set the stage for accountability for the Administration, relief for the American people, and for winning the presidency in 2020. This time, we only need to flip 3 seats to win back the majority and elect Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker. I want 30 seats — and I’ll work for even more!
