91 years ago today, President FDR signed Social Security into law.

Social Security is a lifeline for Hudson Valley seniors. For generations, it has represented a simple promise: if you work hard and pay into the system, the benefits you earned will be there when you need them. 

But now, thanks to Donald Trump, that promise is under threat. After he sent DOGE after the Social Security Administration, the Social Security retirement trust fund is projected to run short in 2032. Without action, Hudson Valley seniors could see their benefit checks cut by up to $500 per month by 2032. 

Pat is fighting back. To commemorate this anniversary, he’s renewing his fight to pass the Protecting Social Security Act — landmark legislation to ensure Americans’ earned benefits cannot be cut, even if the trust fund reaches insolvency.

Social Security is our seniors’ money. They earned it with every paycheck. Donald Trump has no right to take it away.
