Hello, it’s Ken Burns — documentary filmmaker and proud New Hampshire
resident.

I’m reaching out today to talk to you about a fellow Granite Stater, my
friend and my Congresswoman, Maggie Goodlander.

I've spent fifty years telling the story of this country, and my work
keeps teaching me the same thing.

There's no them. There's only us.

Here in New Hampshire, we do democracy face-to-face, close enough to look
each other in the eye. But that only works if the people we send to
Washington put us first, and tell the truth. That's the job.

Maggie does that work better than anyone. She swore an oath to the
Constitution as a Navy intelligence officer, and she kept it last year
when she said plainly that our servicemembers follow lawful orders, and
lawful orders only. For that, the President threatened her and tried to
have her indicted. She did not back down.

They failed, and they will always fail. But the fight for this seat is
just beginning. NH-02 is pivotal, and they know it. If Republicans defeat
Maggie, they have a path to flip the House, and we lose the last real
check on this president.
