The Candidates

As North Carolina’s Attorney General, Cooper focused on protecting small businesses, holding predatory scammers and drug companies accountable, and keeping North Carolina families safe by reducing crime.
As Governor, Cooper worked diligently to create a North Carolina where everyone belonged. He created thousands of new jobs and expanded Medicaid. He worked to relieve medical debt and strengthen public schools. He will continue these fights when he is elected to the United States Senate.

Roy Cooper fights for North Carolinians while his Republican opponent, Michael Whatley, only fights for himself. An oil and gas lobbyist and DC insider, Whatley can’t be trusted to look out for North Carolina in the Senate because he’s only looking out for himself.
He supported [ [link removed] ] Republicans’ toxic plan that is spiking health insurance costs and threatening access, touting it as a “huge win” [ [link removed] ] and an “embodiment” [ [link removed] ] of his party’s agenda. Whatley also opposed legislation that expanded the Affordable Care Act tax credits that are helping keep costs from rising.
He has elevated child predator [ [link removed] ] Harvey Lee West, championed disgraced former Lt. Governor Mark Robinson, and he has downplayed calls to release the Epstein files.
It also turns out that Whatley lied about his roots. While he’s claimed to have grown up in the state, he was actually born and raised in Michigan and only lived in North Carolina for three years as a teenager.
It’s safe to say Michael Whatley is only ever concerned with looking out for his own bottom line and those he is friends with -- whether it is a predator or a Big Oil company. He’ll do the same thing if he is elected to the Senate.
But Roy Cooper spent his career working for North Carolinians – and he’s ready to bring the fight to Washington and win it for the people of his state.
