John xxxxxx,

When Letetra Widman spoke about her brother, Jacob Blake, she said, "I don't want pity, I want change."

Police shot Jacob Blake seven times in the back in front of his own children. He's paralyzed from the waist down. His life will never be the same.

The injustice done to Jacob is another testament to the systemic racism that continues to infect our country. Racial injustice isn't a Democratic problem or a Republican problem, it's an American problem.

I'm calling on the Republican-led Senate to face the facts, put a STOP to these policing tactics that are taking Black lives, and hold bad actors accountable. Sign our petition demanding the Senate debate the Justice in Policing Act NOW.

We are at a breaking point for many across the country. I support the thousands of peaceful protestors who are saying in a unified voice: Enough is enough.

The Congressional Black Caucus will not stop calling for systemic change. Until the Senate meets our demands, we will not be silent. Until justice is served, we will not back down.

We have to change America, John xxxxxx. Our lives depend on it. Please join me in demanding the Senate debate the Justice in Policing Act.

Together, we will win,

Hakeem
