John,
On Labor Day, we carve out time to recognize and honor the wonderful achievements of America’s working people. As some of us gear up for a three-day weekend, it is important for all of us to reflect on what strengthens and nurtures the lives and communities of working people and how we can continue to protect our ability to make a good living that will sustain our families.
This Labor Day, we’re celebrating union solidarity. Across the country, unions, including AFGE locals, are hosting events online and in-person to continue the fight for workers' rights.
When working people come together, the sky is the limit. Unions enable workers to negotiate for safe working conditions, better hours, a voice on the job—and power.
When we’re in a union, we’re all stronger together than we are on our own. We can fight for the fair workplaces we all deserve and for elected officials that truly represent the interests of working people.
In honor of Labor Day this year, we hope you'll join us in supporting many of the events happening around the country.
Happy Labor Day!
In Solidarity,
AFGE
