The federal district court's decision in Jensen v. ATF created a significant opportunity for suppressor dealers.

Join ASA and TSRA with one dual membership. Membership positions your dealership within the current scope of the Jensen v. ATF ruling, allowing eligible suppressor transfers to be processed on a 4473 rather than a Form 4, subject to the court's order and applicable law.


** What You Need to Know
------------------------------------------------------------

The ruling:
* Applies only to the named plaintiffs and the organizational plaintiffs' members and customers.
* Does not eliminate the entire NFA. It blocks enforcement by ATF and DOJ of certain provisions related to registration of suppressors via Form 4 (and Form 1)
* Dealers must have an SOT. The portion of the NFA that requires anyone “engaged in the business” of making and selling NFA firearms to have an SOT remains in effect.
* Dealers should continue to comply with current law and consult their legal counsel before changing how they process NFA transfers.
* Dealers must be located in a state where suppressor ownership is legal AND does not have any state law requiring NFA registration as a condition of possession (27 states are eligible - see ASA FAQ ([link removed]) for more details).
