There is much uncertainty in the world today, but one thing is clear: the “status quo” in the world, and in the mind of the American people and the captive nations of the Anglosphere, has completely dissipated. The movement toward what many have called a “multipolar” order—whether characterized by chaos, or a new paradigm, is equally dissatisfying, because world-confederacy will also not work. Is there a single set of principles that could define a successful transition to what was envisioned at the end of the Second World War by Franklin Roosevelt—a community of sovereign nations unified by a “harmony of interests?” Let us suggest that the principle which states that “The basic assumption for the new paradigm is, that man is fundamentally good and capable to infinitely perfect the creativity of his mind and the beauty of his soul, and being the most advanced geological force in the universe, (which) proves that the lawfulness of the mind and that of the physical universe are in correspondence and cohesion, and that all evil is the result of a lack of development, and therefore can be overcome” must be the basis for that world unity.

Two among the increasingly overlapping wars being fought in various shapes and forms around the world have now converged upon what in physics is sometimes called a boundary condition. As pointed out by the Global Times in their Aug. 11 editorial, shortages of U.S. munitions are now stymying plans for a continued U.S. bombing campaign. This was caused by decades of deindustrialization resulting in the loss of skilled manufacturing jobs capable of producing armaments on a large scale.

The American “arsenal of democracy” has been reduced to post-industrial rubble. The once-proud city of Detroit, heart of U.S. production in the Second World War, is now almost indistinguishable from a post-Apocalyptic doomsday movie site. The befuddled fools within the Trump Administration, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, etc., are turning to the psycho cyber-nerds of Silicon Valley and private defense contractors to help mitigate this gap.

The NATO-Russia war in Ukraine remains very much at an impasse, like Iran, and if diplomatic solutions are not found soon, these conflicts could escalate. In a podcast conversation with journalist Nima Alkhorshid, retired U.S. Army colonel and former chief of staff to Secretary of State Colin Powell Wilkerson argued that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, determined to remain in power, is now doubling down in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and Iran. As Netanyahu seeks to unseat the regime in Tehran—and Donald Trump must be seen as supporting that effort up to now, despite appearances of a rift—Wilkerson said that the only way they could accomplish their objective would be through the use of nuclear weapons.

If that is true, what can be done to stop it? How can citizens intervene now, to prevent general thermonuclear warfare? Helga Zepp-LaRouche described how, in an international webcast on yesterday, on Aug. 12, “This method [that of Nicholas of Cusa] of the Coincidence of Opposites, where you, the human creative reason, always has the ability to conceptualize the higher One which overcomes the contradictions of the lower level where the conflict arises.

“Now, this is extremely important because I have applied that method in my thinking now for several decades because I find it very useful to not get drawn into this side or that side, but to always think of where the higher level where a solution can be found… I mean, President George W. Bush famously said, “You’re either with me or against me.” That kind of mindset—of needing an enemy—is what causes war… It is that mindset which is the cause for fights in the family, and fights among friends; it’s a disease. The method of thinking of the higher One, where you find a solution which satisfies the interest of all participating parts—that is the beauty of the human mind.”

That is what Pope Leo XIV, who evoked the Coincidence of Opposites approach of Nicholas of Cusa, refers to as “Magnifica Humanitas,” or the “Magnificence of Humanity.” That is the ability of the human mind to resolve problems on a higher level from which they originated. That was also the approach of Lyndon LaRouche to all global conflicts for a higher ecumenical approach to peace, based on the science of physical economy, and what he also referred to as the “Science of Christian Economy.”

We must adopt that approach now, and implement it based on our own actions, in order not to let the world be destroyed by enfeebled, impotent forces, either by their own miscalculation or arrogance.
