Through OCA’s internship program, students are placed at various political and nonprofit institutions in Washington, D.C. where they have opportunities to work on advocacy and policy and explore their identity and heritage. Alumni of the program have brought back greater advocacy and civic engagement to their college campuses and local communities. For many, their OCA internship was the starting point of their commitment to social justice and advocacy.
Please join us in congratulating the 2019 Class of Summer Interns, whom you can learn more about here.

Public Charge Story Campaign
So - in order to support La Clínica de la Raza, et al. v. Trump, et al. (N.D. Cal.), and other current litigation opposing the Department of Homeland Security’s (“DHS”) new “public charge” rule published on August 14, 2019, OCA has begun a story-collecting campaign to engage our members and allies around the country. We're looking for personal experiences with the immigration process and usage of public benefits. You can find more information at the link: www.bit.ly/publicchargestory. We will use these stories as evidence of discrimination and disparate impact.
