It has been a week since the national conventions wrapped up and we are still thinking about them. Gun violence took center stage at both the Democratic National Convention and the Republican National Convention, marking distinct progress from conventions past. But, unsurprisingly, the messages could not have been more different.

Gun safety was the focus of the DNC, with survivors and activists sharing their stories and highlighting the urgent need for progress. At the RNC on the other hand, gun extremism abounded and not a single solution to the gun violence epidemic was offered. Check out video highlights from the conventions here:
