Now that
I'm Wisconsin's Democratic nominee for Governor, I wanted to take a minute
to introduce myself properly.

I grew up in Milwaukee's 53206 ZIP code, where my family faced food
insecurity and the threat of eviction.

I know what it feels like when the system isn't built for people like me.

That's what got me into public service in the first place.

I got my start in the Wisconsin Legislature, finding common ground with
people I didn't always agree with to pass laws that actually helped
people.

Then I became Milwaukee County Executive, the youngest person and the
first Black person to hold that office, where I brought together labor,
business, and community organizations to build close to 1,000 units of
affordable housing and push for universal childcare for working families.

I'm ready to take this same work ethic to the governor's office to make
lives better for all Wisconsinites.

Wisconsin is one of the closest states in the country. Every one of our
last three presidential elections was decided by less than a point.

And my opponent? He's a far-right election denier who spent his time in
Congress supporting Donald Trump and MAGA extremism.

That's the kind of race we're in, and we need a large coalition to defend
this open seat.
