This week marks the 91st anniversary of Social Security being established.

For many, including 159,578 constituents here in IL-13, Social Security has been their lifeline to pay the bills, put food on the table, and so much more.

Social Security is a promise that Americans should be able to count on when they need it most.

That’s why throughout my career, I’ve repeatedly opposed any cuts to Social Security and even cosponsored the Social Security Fairness Act, which restored benefits for millions.

And within the last few months, I’ve taken on the fight of helping restore over $500,000 in Social Security payments for constituents in IL-13.

But the truth is, Social Security is under attack. Trump and Elon Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency pushed out thousands of Social Security Administration workers – leaving seniors on hold longer and waiting longer for answers. And the GOP push to privatize the program isn't going away either.

I’m going to keep fighting any attempt to gut vital programs like Social Security – but I need you by my side.
