Dear Friend,

We want to keep everyone on Team Dean up to date with what Mad has been working on! And in addition to keeping Pennsylvanians safe and secure throughout this pandemic, there are quite a few other things that Mad has been tackling.

-Opioid treatment should be available to those who need it, and the MORE Savings Act introduced by Mad aims to make treatment more readily available through a cost-sharing model. People who are struggling with addiction will be able to financially access support.

-Mad knows we need to protect our water from contamination, which is why she's working to stop the use of forever chemicals (in this case PFAS) from being used in firefighters' foam. Through the PFAS Free Foam Research and Development Act, exposure to these harmful forever chemicals that have been linked with cancer and other life-threatening conditions will be prevented.

-Families and communities continue to struggle through this pandemic, and one-time payments are not enough. That's why, through the Payments for the People Act, families would be given financial support to keep afloat for the duration of this economic crisis; sending recurring payments until national unemployment is below 5.5 percent.

-Mad was able to secure a whopping $176 million in proposed funding for some of our most vulnerable communities: people with disabilities, women dealing with substance abuse during their pregnancy and after, student loan borrowers, a national PFAS study, and gun violence prevention.

-Mad went back to DC for an emergency session to pass the Delivering for America Act — a bipartisan bill that prohibits the USPS from making changes to operations that were in effect on January 1, 2020, and establishes requirements for processing election mail.

-It’s been 70 days since the House passed the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act. And as the Senate and the administration drag their feet, Mad continues the urgent fight for progress in racial justice, partnering with NAACP chapters and community leaders to create change here in PA-04.

Mad is hard at work in Washington and at home — making sure to put the priorities of PA-04 first, while fighting for truth, transparency, and decency.

So thank you for being a part of Team Dean. She couldn't do this without you by her side.

Team Dean
