As Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, I have a responsibility to speak up when our military families are being treated unjustly.

 

So when I saw this headline, I was outraged:

More than 50 military spouses and parents have reportedly been detained as part of Trump’s immigration crackdown.

 

50 spouses waiting for their partners to come home. 

 

50 parents separated from their children.

 

50 families who have sacrificed so much to support the men and women who serve our country.

 

This is unacceptable, John. Our servicemembers should never have to worry that while they're serving our country, their families are being torn apart at home. 

 

As Ranking Member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, I will keep fighting to make sure military families receive the support, stability, and respect they deserve.

 

But the truth is, we must flip the House this November so Democrats take back the majority; we can restore congressional oversight, hold this administration accountable, and fight to protect the military families who have given so much to our country.
