The Trevor Project

September is National Suicide Prevention Month. According to The Trevor Project’s research, 40% of LGBTQ youth seriously considered attempting suicide in the past 12 months, with more than half of transgender and nonbinary youth having seriously considered it.

This month, we’re sharing a simple way to support LGBTQ youth mental health and help prevent suicide by educating young people on how they can CARE (Connect, Ask, Respond, Empower) for their friends and family. CARE is a tool anyone can use to respond to the possible warning signs for suicide that they might notice in someone else.

This National Suicide Prevention Month, Show Them You CARE. Visit TRVR.org/CARE to watch our experts discuss practicing CARE in your daily lives, learn more about the meaning behind CARE, and share the inspiring messages of CARE on social media.
