Hi friend--
The National Constitution Center in Philadelphia has chosen progressive icon Ruth Bader Ginsburg as its 2020 Liberty Medal recipient.
The center awards the medal to "men and women of courage and conviction who strive to secure the blessings of liberty to people around the globe." The award has previously been given to leaders like the U.S. Rep. John Lewis and Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai.
RBG's continued contributions to our liberty and progress are undeniable -- in just the past few months, she's voted to protect LGBTQ+ rights, preserve DACA, and hold Trump and his tax returns accountable to the law.
And yet vocal critics (many of them Democrats) think RBG has been selfish to stay on the court so long. Many are now claiming RBG should have retired when Obama was in office -- as if she could have known what would happen next. RBG's legendary response to her naysayers? Who would you "rather see on the court than me?"
We wouldn't prefer anyone else. Would you? Tell us now:
