Friend,

For years, the General Assembly has ignored the gun violence invading our communities. Even after mass shootings last year, the Republican leadership wouldn’t allow even a single vote on common sense gun violence policies.

That could change next year if our slate of Gun Safety Candidates is elected this fall. This powerful group of current and future elected officials will ensure that Harrisburg represents what the public wants: life-saving gun violence prevention laws. Check out the full list.

Since the last election more than 3,000 Pennsylvanians have been killed by guns. This violence takes away our loved ones, whether by suicide or shootings in the community. We lose children and family members. Friends and colleagues.

We’re going to need elected officials who recognize that different forms of gun violence need different solutions. We need candidates who recognize the need for gun owners to take responsibility for their weapons through safe storage and immediate reporting of lost weapons. We need candidates who support Extreme Risk Protection Orders.

With a surge of gun buying and violence during the pandemic, it is more important than ever that we remember: gun safety is on the ballot this November 3rd.

Sincerely,
Adam Garber
CeaseFire Pennsylvania Executive Director
