Friend, last week Kentucky broke its own record for new COVID-19 cases reported in one week: 4,503.

Meanwhile, Mitch McConnell is still on a month-long vacation.

This election is about leadership and how we move forward from the once-in-a-century crisis caused by this pandemic. Leaders don’t leave—they log the hours to help the people they represent. That’s what I’ve been doing with my time—traveling all across the commonwealth to discuss my plan to rebuild Kentucky and how it can directly improve people’s lives. Here’s what that looks like:

- Enacting a $15 minimum wage, so that the more than 40% of renters who currently struggle to pay rent in Bowling Green will be able to house and feed their families more easily;
- Opening up our banking system and using tax cuts to help close the racial home ownership gap in Louisville and other population centers across our state;
- Expanding opioid treatment programs to save lives in places like Boyd and Greenup counties, where we had the third and fourth highest overdose rates in the state;
- Improving infrastructure and environmental cleanup which would help Martin County get the water it needs after it failed to meet EPA standards 50 times; and
- Creating a public option to help address the urgent health care crisis across the commonwealth—in Northern Kentucky, the percentage of adults without health insurance more than doubled from 2016 to 2017.

It’s been almost seven months since a pandemic changed everything, and we still don’t have a plan from our leaders in Washington. COVID-19 isn’t taking a vacation, and our leaders shouldn’t either.

Mitch McConnell has failed Kentucky and the country—if you can, chip in $3 or more today to build our grassroots campaign, and let’s make sure we defeat him in 61 days:
