Hey John — I wanted to send you a quick message thanking you for your support last month.

I won’t sugarcoat it: August was a tough month. Our opponent launched his first TV ad of the general election, Donald Trump came to Scranton, and attacks from outside GOP special interest groups exploded.

But we got through it because of you, John.

I wish I could say the way forward is going to be easier, but it won’t be. We can see that from Vice President Mike Pence’s visit to our district on Tuesday — Republicans are throwing everything they’ve got at us to flip this tossup seat from blue to red.

This month is going to be our most critical test yet because it’s our final End-of-Quarter FEC deadline before the election. That means our opponent and National Republicans will be able to look “under the hood” of our campaign and see all our finances going into the final stretch. My team will talk to you more about this later, but we’re going to have to hustle to avoid falling behind.

But we don’t have to get into all that quite yet. Today we can take a breather and appreciate how far we’ve come. I’m so grateful to have you in this fight with me.
