John, leadership is about who you’re willing to fight for. As governor, I’ve always fought for the people of Arizona by cutting taxes, securing our border, supporting public safety, and protecting Arizona’s water.
Now, for the first time in our state’s history, we are electing a governor and lieutenant governor on the same ticket. The first thing I looked for in a running mate was someone who shares that value of putting Arizonans ahead of partisan politics. That’s why I’m proud to introduce my running mate, former Mesa Mayor John Giles.

Like me, John was born and raised here in Arizona and comes from a working-class family. We've worked together for years, and I've seen firsthand that John will always put Arizona ahead of politics. As mayor of Mesa, one of Arizona’s largest cities, he revitalized the downtown, improved the city’s public education, and brought more businesses into the community.
He shares my commitment to putting Arizona first and delivering results for the people we serve. We come from different political parties, but we share the same belief that leadership is about bringing people together, solving problems, protecting our freedoms, and doing what's best for Arizona—not playing partisan games.
John was a lifelong Republican before becoming an Independent because, like me, he believes extremists shouldn’t stand in the way of getting things done. Together, we're building a coalition of Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and everyone who believes Arizona comes before party.
