John, I wanted to make sure you saw this big news:

Recently, the U.S. Navy awarded Connecticut a record-setting $76.6 BILLION in shipbuilding contracts — the largest shipbuilding award in modern American history.

This historic investment will create good-paying union jobs, strengthen our economy, and provide long-term stability for families across eastern Connecticut. It will help power economic growth across southern New England for decades to come.

I’m proud to have fought every step of the way to bring these investments, jobs, and opportunities home to Connecticut, but the work isn’t over.

We still have to protect these investments, continue creating jobs, and make sure eastern Connecticut remains at the center of our nation’s shipbuilding future. If there is a new Democratic majority in January, I will reclaim the chairmanship of the House Seapower Subcommittee. The last time a Connecticut House member chaired a committee with jurisdiction over the U.S. Navy was in the 1850s. I’ll never stop fighting for our communities and our workers, but I can’t do it alone.
