Friend, I’m writing to share some great news.
August easily could have been the worst month of our campaign. Fundraising always slows down in the summertime, when November elections feel like they’re about a thousand years away. And with the race for the White House filling the news, it’s easy for our race to fall off the radar – no matter how important it will be in deciding Senate control.
But August was our best online fundraising month of the year – and it’s all because of you, friend. That’s why I wanted to take a moment to say thank you.
I know that not everyone is lucky enough to have a team like this – a team that will step up to help even when things are looking bleak. But it’s teams like ours that win elections: Because of your dedication, a Democratic Senate is within our reach.
And, friend, whoever wins the Senate majority will decide the future of everything we care about: health care, reproductive rights, the balance of the Supreme Court. It really is the most important race happening in 2020. Yes, even more important than the race for the White House.
I’m fighting as hard as I can to protect the values we share, but I truly couldn’t do it without you. Your support means the world to me – thank you so much for being a part of this team.
