 Quick question, John: What’s the best five bucks you’ve ever spent? For me, it was a couple of ice creams at Goodnoe Farm Dairy Bar, nearly forty years ago. As a teenager, I didn’t exactly have a ton of disposable income — but an ice cream date with my future wife (and future First Lady of Pennsylvania)? That was easily the best $5 I ever spent. Here’s what I’m getting at: That $5 didn’t seem like a big deal at the time. But looking back? It changed my entire life. And John, that’s exactly why I’m asking you to pitch in just $5 to my reelection campaign here in Pennsylvania. Listen, I know a $5 donation seems like a drop in the bucket compared to how much money could pour into Pennsylvania this year. But without thousands of $5 donations from folks like you coming into our campaign? We’d have to scale back our ad spending. We couldn’t open any more campaign offices across Pennsylvania. We’d have to strike hundreds of thousands of undecided voters off our contact list — and just hope they vote our way on Election Day. I know $5 doesn’t seem like much — but just like that $5 ice cream date from all those years ago, we’re going to look back, and realize just how much of an impact it made.
