The conversations around Mitch McConnell and his absence spark a grave conversation about age and serving in office. After multiple health scares, he’s now recovering at home but can't travel to Washington to serve in person. He’s in a position now where many are unsure if he’s physically able to continue serving.
At 84 years old, Mitch McConnell is just one year older than Virginia Foxx. If he’s having these health issues, what kind of issues is she having? The reality is that Congress is no place for an 83 or 84 year old.
I can confidently say that when I’m Virginia Foxx’s age, I will be at home enjoying my time with my kids and grandkids. I refuse to be in Congress clinging to power.
Washington has turned into a competition of who can hold onto their seat the longest rather than who can best serve their constituents. Virginia Foxx’s time in Washington has long passed, but it’s on us to send her home.
