Dear friend,

We should be able to trust that cosmetics are safe, but in the U.S., cosmetics ingredients are largely unregulated. Just take a look at what may be lurking in your cosmetics:

•	PFAS chemicals, linked to cancer, can be found in makeup, shampoos and shaving cream.
•	Parabens can mimic estrogen and disrupt the hormone system and are used in personal care products, like moisturizers and lipsticks
•	Formaldehyde, an infamous carcinogen that is released by cosmetics ingredients used in shampoos, conditioners and more.

Now California is considering legislation to ban these and nine more toxic cosmetics ingredients! Gov. Newsom needs to hear from you! Please urge Gov. Newsom to sign the Toxic-Free Cosmetics Act, A.B. 2762, into law!

U.S cosmetics regulations haven’t been updated in more than 80 years. And though more than 40 countries have banned or restricted 1,400 ingredients in cosmetics for health and safety, the U.S. has restricted only 11.

The Toxic-Free Cosmetics act would ban 12 of the most notorious carcinogens, hormone disruptors and reproductive toxicants used in cosmetics. It’s a commonsense first step toward modernizing U.S. cosmetics regulations. Can we count on you to take action today to help BAN the toxic 12?
