These risks only get compounded with a Green New Deal. Maybe that's the whole point...

Real Clear Energy (9/2/20) reports: "China and 'probably one or two other' countries can shut down the U.S. power grid through a cyberattack. This disturbing revelation was made by Admiral Michael Rogers, former head of the National Security Agency, to Congress – in November 2014. China has also become the world’s leading supplier of transformers – the 'spine' of electricity grids -- according to a 2014 U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) report. This also presents significant challenges to U.S. grid security. For economic and security reasons, the United States should no longer purchase transformers and other electric grid equipment manufactured in China. It is important to end relationships that U.S. utilities have directly with Chinese businesses and multi-national companies manufacturing transformers in China. These actions are envisioned under a May 1 Executive Order President Trump issued on protecting the bulk-power grid. Chinese power equipment provided to the U.S. can be embedded with software and hardware to remotely commit mischief from Beijing, enhancing its ability to commit cyberattacks."

"Obviously (Kamala Harris) either does not know these facts, or does and simply seeks to hide them to push a false missive. There can be no other conclusion."

What a bunch of baloney.

The Hill (9/2/20) reports: "The United Nations’s Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) is asking for information about whether a U.S. plan to advance drilling in Alaska is fair to a native group.  CERD Chair Yanduan Li wrote in a letter to U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Andrew Bremberg that it received allegations that the oil and gas drilling plan for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) was done 'without the free, prior and informed consent of and adequate consultation with Gwich’in indigenous peoples, despite the serious harm such extractive activities could allegedly cause.' Li also said the committee received allegations that drilling would harm Gwich’in people by reducing a significant traditional food source, subject them to air pollution and exacerbate the impacts of climate change that they will face."

Off message.

Let's help Don stop the NC GND.

The Locker Room (9/2/20) reports: "Dem. Gov. Roy Cooper has seemingly taken every opportunity to promote renewable energy in North Carolina – and just as often stymie advancement of other energy sources like natural gas (see his treatment of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline). In his research brief this week, Dr. Don van der Vaart examined Gov. Cooper’s “Clean Energy Plan.” Dr. van der Vaart writes: 'Gov. Roy Cooper published a “Clean Energy Plan” (CEP) for North Carolina last year and appears to be acting on it to the extent he can. This plan contains many of the same goals and aspirations as the “Green New Deal” pushed by hardcore leftists like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez et al.' This plan does not appear to put affordability or reliability of energy sources at the forefront. Dr. van der Vaart writes: 'Cooper’s CEP has some components that address energy, but they appear to be more focused on social engineering than energy engineering. They would lead to higher electricity costs, cause electricity shortages, ignore viable strategies, and may well exacerbate global warming to the extent that manmade emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) play a role.'"
