Literally, we want you to run with us.
This week Mark had me download the Couch to 5k training app created by Dallas-based ACTIVE.com, and we'll be running a 5k (or 10k) the week of the election. Whether you want to run a new distance, crush an old PR, or simply get fresh air, we'd love to have you join us! Check out Mark's blog post on the benefits of running from earlier this week, and if you're in, simply reply to this email.
Running for me has always had the effect of settling my mind, relieving stress, and reconnecting with nature, but here's what's crazy: running Mark's campaign has done the same thing.
Knocking on doors during the signature drive, I saw it in the faces of voters in TX-24 who want a different option too. There's something freeing about being able to think and speak outside the confines of the two-party structure. It feels like running a 5k with friends instead of running against someone.
We'd love to have you run the campaign with us too. Policy research has been my top focus the past three weeks; if you have issues you'd like to talk about or have knowledge in a particular subject matter, shoot us a note by replying to this email. As Mark learned as a journalist, and as I learned from working on Capitol Hill, there's no limit to what we can gain from listening to each other.
Stay independent,
Caleb Paxton
Campaign Manager
PS: What barriers are stopping you from being involved in politics in a way that helps you flourish? Often listening to others to find understanding can be the difference between division and unity.
