Hi John,
Over 165,000 people have now signed the petition calling for Tesco to take action on the forest-destroying meat companies they do business with. So far, Tesco's response has been almost comical!
Tesco started running ads on social media saying that they support our campaign(!), meanwhile they're still buying meat from forest-destroying companies, and the Amazon is on fire - yet again. [1]
But the good news is, we have their attention. So now, let's tell CEO Dave Lewis, exactly what he needs to do to correct the problem and protect our forests.
Will you email Tesco's CEO?

Tesco are telling their customers that they're on track to meet their 2020 zero deforestation targets. But this is very misleading, because they buy meat from companies owned by Amazon destroyers, and they don't know where the soya in their meat and dairy supply chains comes from. Chances are it's been grown on deforested land. [2] As they well know, Tesco can't continue business as usual without being involved in deforestation. Tesco needs to do better.
I've written a template email to CEO Dave Lewis that you can send in your name. It asks him to drop the forest-destroying companies he is doing business with and start reducing Tesco's industrial meat production to help save the world's forests.
John, if you can also add an additional line at the start of the email to express why you care about deforestation, it'll help Dave Lewis to see your point of view. You can edit the subject line too - but please remember to be respectful!

Now really is the best time for Dave Lewis to hear from us. He'll soon be handing over the reins at Tesco to his successor. He needs to set Tesco on the right path so that the next CEO of Tesco inherits a company that protects our forests by default - rather than destroying them.
Right now, destruction of the Amazon and other South American forests is continuing at an unimaginable rate. Tesco must take immediate action that matches the scale of the problem.
Please email Dave Lewis now so that he can hear from you personally about why we need to protect our forests.

Thank you so much for all you do,
Flo
