The Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) will be considering revised Health and Science TEKS for first reading and a vote next week, September 8-11. We need parents and concerned Texans to protect Texas’ over 5 million public school children by contacting the SBOE and by signing up to testify against radical sex education and politicized Science courses on Tuesday September 8, 2020 at 9 AM. At the SBOE meeting in June, leftist LGBTQ and pro-abortion advocacy groups testified against abstinence-focused education and in favor of highly sexualized, pro-LGBTQ propaganda starting in kindergarten. Thankfully, your engagement and the testimony of our team made a difference. The current draft that is expected to be voted on does not promote radical sex education or contain pro-abortion or pro-LGBTQ propaganda. The draft for first reading is abstinence focused and includes the advantages of abstinence from sexual activity. You can see the current draft of the Health standards here. We also need concerned Texans to sign up to testify on the Science TEKS as well. Work group members have added the topic of “social justice” throughout the Science TEKS. Introducing social justice, which will open the door to LGBTQ advocacy, does not belong in Science. You can see the Science TEKS here. Leftist groups like Texas Freedom Network and SIECUS plan to testify for pro-LGBTQ amendments to the final draft of the Health TEKS and in support of further politicization of the Science TEKS. We need as many people as possible to stand up for common sense Health & Science standards by contacting the State Board of Education and signing up to testify virtually. Please take these two action steps to protect Texas children: -
