ACLU Supporter, ACLU affiliates have filed 54 legal claims in 17 states and Washington, D.C. on behalf of people who have suffered serious violence, abuse, and neglect at the hands of federal law enforcement.

Each of these cases tells the story of an individual who was brutalized by federal immigration agents.

In one case, a mother of four was five months into a high-risk pregnancy when she and her family were taken and held in a Customs and Border Patrol facility for nearly four weeks with limited access to clean water and without any windows to the outside.

In another, a registered nurse and professor of public health who was visiting an ICE facility to provide medical care was violently assaulted by agents.

Some of these stories detail U.S. citizens who were racially profiled and attacked in such extreme ways they required hospitalization. Others were detained, neglected, and treated inhumanely.

Violence at the hands of federal agents isn't a fluke – it's routine. The Trump administration's culture of violence without repercussion is harming all of us, and we're demanding justice for those across the country who've been victimized firsthand by federal law enforcement. President Trump's brutal, inhumane immigration forces must be stopped.
