When he thought no one was looking, he recently endorsed an idea spread on social media that I “might as well be White” because I’m a Republican.
This happened right after I spoke at the Republican National Convention. Representative Cohen also tweeted that the RNC catered to “the Trump base: white… and poorly educated.”
Now look, I’m used to the comments and insults coming from haters on social media. But the casual -- if unintentional -- racism shown by my Democratic colleagues is becoming a new trend. Just a few weeks ago, Senator Dick Durbin called my police reform bill a “token” effort.
Democrats can’t accept that Black men and women like me can think and vote for themselves.
I’m a strong Black, conservative American fighting every day to make our country better and I’m not afraid to stand up for myself.
Fellow Conservative, will you stand up to the haters with me?
The far left Democrats and liberal media are doing their best to tear down Black conservatives like me, one by one. The only way to stop them is to stand up and prove we’re far stronger than they ever imagined.
We must show the left that our conservative beliefs are deeper than the color of our skin.
With your support, I can keep fighting for conservative values against all odds.
