Refilling Your Heart for National Recovery Month
A part of your brain will reject the idea of celebration. It will recall the frightening news it heard this morning, or the cancelled vacations and social engagements, and it will ask you to curl up in your nest on the sofa. And you might consider National Recovery Month another loss among the great many in 2020. Don’t listen to it. Listen to your heart, where celebration takes place.
This September, we uphold the hope of recovery and band together to protect its guiding light. This week, author and national victim’s advocate Jennifer Storm shares her story of addiction, sexual trauma and her search for healing. All month long, we’ll share similarly powerful stories, tools and tips that embody recovery’s hope. All we ask is you open your heart to its celebration because, frankly, we could all use it.
