WEEKLY BRIEFING
Birth Tourism Ended, $2 Billion+ in American Mining Deals, Private Sector Cuts Prices Across Thousands of Items, and Manufacturing at a 4-Year High
President Trump signed two executive orders on August 6 ending birth tourism and protecting the meaning of American citizenship — historic action following the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling in Trump v. Barbara. The orders identify categories of children ineligible for birthright citizenship and direct federal agencies to dismantle birth tourism networks. The administration has now completed 15 consecutive months without releasing a single illegal alien into the country, carried out more than 3 million deportations, filed 88 denaturalization claims, removed illegal aliens from voter rolls in multiple states, and terminated taxpayer benefits for more than 1.4 million illegal immigrants.
On August 7, President Trump convened the largest mining industry roundtable in more than 120 years, announcing over $2 billion in new American mining investments. The deals include Sila Nanotechnologies’ $1.4 billion investment in silicon-carbon battery anodes and lithium-ion cells in California, Sunrise Energy Metals’ $400 million commitment to develop the first primary scandium mine in the United States, and Niron Magnetics’ $150 million investment in rare earth-free permanent magnets in Minnesota. Since Inauguration Day, the administration has now signed 160 minerals deals totaling roughly $40 billion — rebuilding the supply chains America abandoned for decades.
The private sector is answering President Trump’s call to lower prices. Major retailers including Walmart, Target, Kroger, Giant Eagle, Albertsons, and Costco are cutting prices on thousands of everyday items. Novo Nordisk reduced Ozempic and Wegovy to as low as $199–$350 per month. Pfizer is cutting prices up to 85% through TrumpRx. Energy utilities including Alliant Energy, NiSource, and Entergy have committed a combined $3.4 billion in consumer savings. And automakers Ford and Stellantis are offering employee pricing and 0% financing nationwide.
Newly declassified FBI memos revealed a stunning abuse of power: one week after President Trump fired Director James Comey on May 9, 2017, the FBI secretly opened a criminal investigation — codenamed “Oxferd Comma” — alleging the President “may be or has been…involved in activities for or on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation.” The probe closed April 9, 2019 with no charges filed. The Steele dossier that launched it was funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign, and FBI agents had already flagged most of its claims as uncorroborated or false. The White House also launched fraud.gov, a new public-facing website documenting the Government Transparency Task Force’s achievements in real time. And declassified records confirm that more than 600,000 Arizona voter files were hacked in 2020 — yet the Biden DOJ declined to prosecute.
President Trump signed an executive order on August 3 establishing the President’s Military Spouses Commission, a dedicated body to strengthen housing, employment, healthcare, education, and childcare support for military families. President Trump also signed a proclamation honoring National Purple Heart Day on August 6. And as U.S. factory activity hit its fastest pace in four years — with new orders expanding for seven consecutive months — President Trump traveled to California and Nevada to tout the booming economy, and hosted more than 120 Team USA Winter Olympians and Paralympians at the White House Rose Garden.
$2B+ New Mining Investment Deals 3M+ Total Deportations Under Trump 15 Consecutive Months Zero Illegal Releases 4-Yr Fastest Manufacturing Growth
WEEK IN REVIEW
Birth Tourism Ended: Two Executive Orders Protect American Citizenship. On August 6, following the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling in Trump v. Barbara (June 30, 2026), President Trump signed two executive orders ending birth tourism and strengthening the protections of American citizenship. The first order identifies categories of children ineligible for birthright citizenship; the second directs the Secretaries of State and Homeland Security to dismantle birth tourism networks exploited by syndicates and foreign actors. The administration has now completed 15 consecutive months without releasing a single illegal alien into the country. Total deportations have surpassed 3 million, including thousands convicted of violent crimes. The administration has filed 88 denaturalization claims against ineligible recipients, removed illegal aliens from voter rolls in multiple states, terminated taxpayer benefits for more than 1.4 million illegal immigrants, and paused visa processing for 75 high-risk
countries.
$2 Billion+ in American Mining Deals: The Largest Roundtable in 120 Years. On August 7, President Trump convened the largest mining industry roundtable in more than 120 years, announcing over $2 billion in new American mining investments. The flagship deal: Sila Nanotechnologies committed $1.4 billion to build silicon-carbon battery anodes and next-generation lithium-ion cells in California. Sunrise Energy Metals pledged $400 million to develop the first-ever primary scandium mine in the United States. Niron Magnetics committed $150 million to produce rare earth-free permanent magnets in Minnesota, reducing dependence on Chinese rare earth supply chains. Since Inauguration Day, the Trump administration has signed 160 critical minerals deals totaling approximately $40 billion — a generational effort to rebuild the domestic supply chains America ceded to foreign adversaries over decades.
Private Sector Answers the Call: Retailers, Drugmakers, and Energy Providers Cut Prices. Major retailers are responding directly to President Trump’s call to lower prices for American families. Giant Eagle, Walmart, Target, Kroger, Albertsons, Sam’s Club, Meijer, Costco, and H-E-B are collectively cutting prices on thousands of everyday items — with Giant Eagle cutting 10% or more on over 300 products and Kroger announcing its “biggest price cuts in years.” On prescription drugs, Novo Nordisk slashed Ozempic and Wegovy to as low as $199–$350 per month, while Pfizer is cutting prices up to 85% through TrumpRx. Energy utilities including Alliant Energy (5-year rate freeze), NiSource ($1.4 billion returned to consumers), and Entergy ($2 billion returned) are delivering meaningful relief on monthly bills. Ford extended employee pricing nationwide; Stellantis offered 0% financing and 90-day deferred payments.
Declassified: FBI Secretly Probed Trump as Russian Asset After Firing Comey. White House Launches fraud.gov. Newly declassified FBI memos confirm a secret criminal investigation — codenamed “Oxferd Comma” — was opened May 16, 2017, just one week after President Trump fired Director James Comey. The probe alleged the President “may be or has been…involved in activities for or on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation.” It was opened with the knowledge of Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe and Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein, and closed April 9, 2019 with no charges filed — weeks after Mueller’s probe reached the same conclusion. The Steele dossier that seeded the investigation was funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign; FBI agents working the case had already dismissed most of its claims as uncorroborated or false, with Agent Pete Strzok texting: “I hesitate…there’s no big there there.” In a related transparency move, the White House launched fraud.gov, a live public dashboard sh
owcasing the Government Transparency Task Force’s anti-fraud achievements. And separately, declassified records confirmed that more than 600,000 Arizona voter registration files were hacked in 2020 — yet the Biden DOJ declined to prosecute the attacker.
Military Spouses Commission, Purple Heart Day, and Polysilicon Tariffs. On August 3, President Trump signed an executive order establishing the President’s Military Spouses Commission — a dedicated body charged with developing policy recommendations on housing, employment, healthcare, education, and childcare for military families. The Commission is chaired by the spouse of the Secretary of War and includes 20 military spouses appointed from the Service Secretaries and Joint Chiefs. On August 6, the President signed a proclamation honoring National Purple Heart Day. The administration also announced a tariff on polysilicon and its derivatives, protecting a critical semiconductor supply chain that saw U.S. market share collapse from 50% of global production in 2005 to under 2% in 2024 — the direct result of decades of foreign government dumping.
Manufacturing Boom, Winter Olympians, and a California–Nevada Economic Tour. U.S. factory activity recorded its fastest growth in four years, with new manufacturing orders expanding for a seventh consecutive month — a streak that was unthinkable just two years ago. American goods exports have topped $200 billion for the fifth consecutive month, putting the U.S. on pace for nearly $2.5 trillion in goods exports this year. President Trump traveled to California and Nevada to tout the economic results firsthand. The White House also welcomed more than 120 Team USA Winter Olympians and Paralympians to the Rose Garden. New investment commitments from Octapharma ($1.5 billion) and Zerluma ($50 million) continued the torrent of capital flowing into America under the Trump economic agenda.
