One of Andrew's priorities in Congress has always been putting Long Island first. That means working with Republicans and Democrats whenever it helps get things done for our communities.

That approach was recently recognized by Bridge Grades, an independent organization that grades Members of Congress on bipartisan leadership. Andrew currently has a 96.2 out of 100, earning an A grade.

Whether it's securing tax relief for Long Island families, strengthening homeland security, supporting our first responders, or investing in local infrastructure, Andrew believes the best results come from bringing people together and finding common ground.

"Long Islanders expect us to work together and solve problems," Andrew said. "I've always believed that if there's an opportunity to work across the aisle to get something done for our communities, it's worth doing. That's how we've been able to deliver real results for Long Island, and that's how I'll continue to approach this job."

Visiting Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Andrew recently visited Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to meet with President and CEO Dr. Selwyn Vickers and Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Ross Levine to discuss the incredible work they are doing to advance patient care and medical research.

Earlier this year, Andrew helped secure more than $56 million in overdue FEMA COVID-19 reimbursements for the hospital.



Andrew appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from Dr. Vickers and Dr. Levine about the future of cancer research and will continue fighting to make sure New York's world-class hospitals have the support they need to provide exceptional care and advance lifesaving research.

Meeting with St. Joseph's University President

Andrew recently visited St. Joseph's University in Patchogue to meet with President Dr. Donald R. Boomgaarden and university leadership to discuss opportunities to continue working together.

Long Island's colleges and universities play an important role in preparing students for successful careers while strengthening our local workforce and economy.



Andrew appreciated the opportunity to hear about the university's priorities and looks forward to continuing to support the high-quality education Long Island's colleges and universities provide while helping students succeed for years to come.

Visiting the Hospital for Special Surgery

Andrew also met with leadership at the Hospital for Special Surgery to learn more about the innovative work taking place at one of the nation's leading orthopedic hospitals.

It was a great opportunity to see firsthand how New York continues to lead the way in medical innovation and discuss ways to support institutions that improve patient care every day.

Andrew looks forward to continuing to work with healthcare leaders to strengthen quality care.

Supporting Blood Donation on Long Island

Andrew's team was proud to attend the Second Annual Billy Moon Day Blood Drive at the Islip Fire Department this weekend.

Hosted by the New York Blood Center, the Billy Moon Foundation, and the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), the event brought together volunteers, donors, and community partners to help ensure hospitals have the lifesaving blood products patients rely on every day.

Andrew thanks everyone who donated blood and helped make this important community event possible.

Recognizing Purple Heart Day

This week, our nation recognized Purple Heart Day, honoring the brave men and women who were wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

Long Island is home to so many Purple Heart recipients whose courage and sacrifice continue to inspire us.

Andrew remains committed to supporting our veterans, service members, and military families, and he is grateful for all they have done in defense of our nation.

Casework Highlight: Helping a Long Island Resident Receive Their Tax Refund

When a Long Island resident experienced significant delays receiving a federal tax refund, they reached out to Andrew's office for assistance. Andrew's constituent services team worked directly with the IRS to resolve the issue, resulting in the constituent receiving a refund of more than $25,000, including interest.
