Way back when, I was a laid-off geologist who took every scrap of my savings — and a big risk! — and opened Colorado’s first brewpub, the Wynkoop.

Wynkoop wasn’t just about serving beer. It was a place where people came together, sat across from folks they didn’t always know or agree with, and still managed to build relationships and work out their differences.

To be totally honest, I never planned to run for office. I only ever wandered into the job because I was sick and tired of our government focusing more on decisions that’d help politicians get reelected rather than helping solve our problems.

So I took another big risk and ran for Mayor of Denver. To everyone’s surprise, including mine, we won in a landslide. Then I was elected to serve as Governor of Colorado, and in 2020, folks like you helped me flip Colorado’s Senate seat blue.

Through it all, our focus has remained the same: Putting Coloradans first and getting sh*t done.

That’s why we fought hard to lower prescription drug costs, to pass the most consequential housing bill in decades, and to tackle climate change head-on. Our main priority in the Senate is YOU.
