We have confidence in these candidates to deliver in office and work for the East Bay people, applying the progressive values we believe in through their crucial work. During this election, amid a worldwide health pandemic, a concurrent economic crisis, and renewed movement for racial justice and liberation, this pivotal moment’s importance cannot be understated.

We have a few more endorsements to make! Check out our upcoming Berkeley City Council District 2 and Oakland Unified School Board forums!

  • September 10th - Oakland Unified School Districts 1 and 3 Candidate Forum, in partnership with State of Black Education - Oakland.
  • September 16th - Candidate Forum for Berkeley District 2, in partnership with Cal Berkeley Democrats.
  • September 17th - Oakland Unified School Districts 5 and 7 Candidate Forum, in partnership with State of Black Education - Oakland
In solidarity,

Jesus Arzola-Vega, EBYD Communications Director

"When marginalized groups finally gained access to the ballot, it took time for them to organize around opposition to the specific forms of discrimination and mistreatment that continued to plague them - and longer still for political parties and candidates to respond to such activism."
