Over the past few weeks, Donald Trump has continued to launch reckless and
illegal military actions against Iran without congressional authorization.

At a moment when families are struggling with skyrocketing health care
costs, unaffordable housing, and the everyday costs of groceries and
prescription drugs, Donald Trump is putting American lives and taxpayer
dollars on the line while launching wars that are raising gas prices and
causing even more pain here at home.

The American people don’t want another generation of forever wars. Neither
do I.

That’s why I’ve voted in support of War Powers Resolutions that would rein
in the president’s reckless military actions. But ultimately, Republicans
have defeated the measures.

The reality is this: As long as Republicans control the House, it will
remain harder to stop this escalation and hold Donald Trump accountable.

Taking back the House this year is essential if we want Congress to serve
as a real check and refocus our government on lowering costs and improving
people’s lives here at home.
