Last month, Donald Trump fired every remaining commissioner of the federal agency that helps states run secure elections.

By email. Effective immediately. Just months before the midterms.

Days before, his Justice Department announced it would be deploying election monitors into battleground states and Democratic strongholds — and threatened election officials in all 50 states with criminal prosecution.

In other words, he fired the referees, sent in his own watchers, and then threatened the people who count the votes.

All the while, he is still peddling the same, tired lie he has been for the last six years:

Let’s call this what it is: Donald Trump is afraid he is going to lose badly and wants to fix the result.
