Contact Me Here Releasing My 2026 Veterans Plan America's veterans have sacrificed greatly to defend our freedoms, and our commitment to them must continue long after their military service ends. This week, I released my 2026 Veterans Plan outlining a comprehensive legislative agenda to strengthen accountability at the Department of Veterans Affairs, expand access to quality healthcare, support veterans as they transition to civilian life, and ensure our nation's heroes receive the care, benefits, and recognition they have earned. These priorities reflect my commitment to standing with our servicemembers, veterans, and their families while working to build a VA that better serves those who answered the call to defend our nation. Unveiling My 2026 America First Foreign Policy Peace is achieved through strength, and America's foreign policy should always put our nation's interests first. My 2026 America First Foreign Policy Plan focuses on legislative priorities to strengthen our national security, confront the growing threats posed by China and other foreign adversaries, protect American workers and taxpayers, and advance President Trump's Peace Through Strength agenda. A strong America begins with strong leadership abroad, and this plan is focused on ensuring our foreign policy always puts the American people first. Releasing My 2026 Israel and Iran Plan The Iranian regime continues to pose one of the greatest threats to peace and stability in the Middle East. My 2026 Israel and Iran Plan advances policies that bolster America's alliance with Israel, increase pressure on Iran and its terrorist proxies, and prevent the regime from obtaining a nuclear weapon. Standing firmly with our allies and confronting those who threaten American interests is essential to promoting peace through strength and protecting our national security. Each week, I review numerous bills and letters, engaging in thorough discussions with members of our community to determine which actions to support and address your needs. Below are a few bills I recently cosponsored. H.R. 1778, the American Innovation Act of 2025: This bill would modernize the federal tax treatment of start-up businesses by expanding deductions for start-up and organizational expenses. New and growing businesses often face high upfront costs before becoming profitable, and reducing those barriers can encourage investment, entrepreneurship, and job creation. This legislation supports American innovation by making it easier for entrepreneurs to start, grow, and scale their businesses, while strengthening the nation’s long-term economic competitiveness. H.Res. 1462, Recognizing the historic significance of Medicare on the 61st anniversary of its enactment: This resolution would recognize the historic significance of Medicare on the 61st anniversary of its enactment, highlight the program's longstanding role in providing health care coverage for seniors and certain individuals with disabilities, and acknowledge its impact on improving access to medical care for millions of Americans. For more than six decades, Medicare has served as a vital source of health care coverage for eligible beneficiaries and should be protected for future generations. This resolution recognizes Medicare's enduring legacy and its continued role in serving America's seniors and individuals with disabilities. H.R. 5269, the Reforming and Enhancing Sustainable Updates to Laboratory Testing Services (RESULTS) Act of 2025: This bill would improve the way Medicare establishes payment rates for clinical diagnostic laboratory tests by updating reporting requirements for laboratories, permitting the use of qualified independent claims data for widely available laboratory tests, modifying the definition of applicable laboratories, and revising the schedule for reporting and updating Medicare payment rates. Clinical diagnostic laboratory testing plays an important role in the early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease, and accurate Medicare reimbursement helps preserve patient access to these essential services. This legislation helps strengthen the long-term stability of Medicare's laboratory payment system while supporting beneficiaries’ access to high-quality diagnostic testing. WNY Energy Western New York Energy plays an important role in supporting our region's economy by creating local jobs, purchasing millions of bushels of corn from New York farmers, and producing clean, renewable energy right here in Western New York. During my visit to the facility, I met with company leadership and local officials to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing New York's biofuels industry, as well as the importance of policies that support domestic energy production and American agriculture. I appreciate the team at Western New York Energy for taking the time to share their work and their continued investment in our local communities. Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge For nearly seven decades, the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge has provided critical habitat for migratory birds and other wildlife while giving Western New Yorkers the opportunity to experience the outdoors. My visit to the refuge included meeting Carl Zenger, who has volunteered over 45,000 hours, making a lasting impact on the refuge and its conservation efforts. His dedication is a testament to the volunteers whose hard work helps preserve these natural spaces for future generations to enjoy. Rochester Regional Health Hospital Providing high-quality healthcare close to home is essential for families across our region. I recently toured Rochester Regional Health's Clifton Springs Hospital, where I visited the emergency department, laboratory facilities, and nursing wing and spoke with healthcare professionals about the patients and communities they serve. Our conversations covered patient care, behavioral health, rural healthcare policy, and the range of services available at the hospital. Thank you to the dedicated doctors, nurses, staff, and leadership at Clifton Springs for welcoming me and for their work each day caring for our communities. Arkema Recently, I toured Arkema's facility in Piffard to see firsthand the advanced manufacturing taking place right here in Livingston County. The facility employs over 70 people and operates around the clock, producing specialty materials used in a range of applications, including adhesives and coatings. I appreciated the opportunity to meet with the Arkema team, see demonstrations of products manufactured at the site, and discuss the company's plans for continued growth and investment in North America. Arkema's operations in Livingston County are a great example of the innovation, skilled workforce, and manufacturing capabilities that continue to drive economic growth across Upstate New York. Aldon Corporation This week, I visited Aldon Corporation in Avon, a chemical manufacturer that has been part of the community for decades. With over 50 full-time employees, Aldon serves both educational and industrial customers while supporting local jobs and manufacturing here in Upstate New York. The tour provided a great look at the company’s operations and an opportunity to speak with leadership about the issues affecting their industry and the continued success of manufacturers across our region. EquiCenter EquiCenter is creating opportunities for veterans, seniors, and individuals of all abilities to build confidence, develop new skills, and improve their well-being through innovative equine and nature-based programs. I enjoyed learning more about the organization's work, including its veteran program, which pairs wild mustangs with veterans to help them work through PTSD. With support from hundreds of dedicated volunteers, EquiCenter continues to make a meaningful difference for individuals and families throughout our region, and I appreciate everyone who helps make its mission possible.
