It was a busy week across the Seventh District, where I joined Agriculture
Secretary Brooke Rollins at Farmfest and looked back at a major vote we took
before leaving Washington. Here's what you need to know:



It was great to spend Tuesday at Farmfest with our terrific Agriculture
Secretary Brooke Rollins and my colleague Congressman Brad Finstad, hearing
directly from the people who grow our nation's food. We kicked off the morning
with the Minnesota Corn Growers Association, hosting the very first stop on the
USDA's nationwide Data Modernization tour. Farmers depend on accurate, timely
USDA reports to make critical planting and marketing decisions. When those
numbers are wrong or delayed, it hits farm bottom lines directly. Getting data
reporting right delivers the consistency and predictability our rural
operations need to thrive. Later that afternoon, we met with the Minnesota
Soybean Growers to focus on opening new international markets for
Minnesota-grown commodities. Our growers do not want handouts; they want
buyers. As a member of the House Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee, I have made
expanding trade access and securing new customer bases a top priority.
Congressman Finstad continues to be an invaluable partner in driving these
trade policy discussions forward.

Secretary Rollins also brought concrete wins to Farmfest, announcing extended
timelines for crop insurance premium payments and the reinstatement of
prevented planting coverage options, providing immediate financial flexibility
for producers. Having the Secretary select Minnesota for her tour kickoff
underscores our region's central role in American agriculture, and I will
ensure Washington stays focused on the priorities of our rural communities.



Late last month, I was proud to stand up for the American people and vote for
theStop Insider Trading Act. The premise is simple, common sense, and
overwhelmingly backed by Americans ofALL political affiliations: stop
Washington politicians from getting rich off insider secrets, and secure our
elections with voter ID. It bars members of Congress, their spouses, and their
dependent children from trading individual stocks on insider knowledge, while
requiring a photo ID at the ballot box to guarantee election integrity. It's
not rocket science. Politicians shouldn't be lining their pockets off the power
voters gave them, and you should show government ID to vote. Yet when push came
to shove, 198 House Democrats showed where their priorities are and voted NO.
But that didn't prevent the bill's passage, and it is now in the Senate.
