Friend,
The Senate scrambled out the door yesterday.
They spent months fighting each other over the Iran war, over cabinet nominees, over who gets to be the most loyal MAGA Republican in the room. And at the last possible second, they raced to clear their to-do list before disappearing until September 14.
Buried in the chaos: Trump's voter suppression bill is still very much alive.
The Senate already killed it once, back in June. So House Republicans snuck it into the defense bill on the way out the door. It would require millions of Americans to produce a passport or birth certificate just to register to vote. Election workers could face prison time for good-faith mistakes.Voter rolls would be purged based on faulty data, potentially on Election Day itself.
This is the part where Republicans are betting no one is paying attention.
They're wrong.
When the Senate comes back on September 14, there will barely be enough days left before Election Day. The senators who can stop this know we're watching. It's our job to make sure they never forget it.
While the Senate’s on vacation, we’re not. Help us be ready to defend voters when they get back >> <[link removed]>
