Anyone who tells you that demanding justice for historical and present harms is divisive is GASLIGHTING you. We need to stay alert to the spin that is trying to scare us back into our gated communities of self preservation and separation. Now is not a time to #walkaway and give into conspiracy theories. COVID is not a hoax. Antifa is not a terrorist organization. And Trump is not making us great again.
We were never “great”. There is no version of America we want to return to. But we can be better. We can become more just and equitable. We can build a culture and politics rooted in our interdependence that doesn’t leave anyone behind. Now is the time to be unwavering - to stand in our values and fight for the country that we all deserve.
