I just came out of a team huddle, and John, I’m going to be honest -- we’re in a tough spot. It turns out that unless we raise $15,000 before the end of the week, we might have to cut down our media plan significantly -- and in a race as close as ours, that could make a difference in winning or losing.

John, last cycle, Gil won this seat by less than three points -- and polling shows that it’s going to be a neck-and-neck race again this November. These are real numbers, John, and they’re telling us that if we fall behind on our path to victory, then we very well might lose a Democratic member of Congress this November.

For the sake of our community and country, both, I wish that there wasn’t so much on the line.

But John, if we don’t keep Gil on the Hill, we lose an advocate on the issues that matter most: access to affordable health care, a fighter against corruption in Washington, and a leader in safeguarding safety programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.
